Freestanding kitchen islands can be an integral part of a kitchen design. They bring style and practicality to any kitchen space, a place to sit and socialize or just have your morning cup of coffee. Also they can provide an additional worksurface and space to prepare those lovely meals. Our kitchen islands can be made to any design, size & shape to suit your individual needs & they may be painted in any colour of your choice from any of the main manufacturers such as Farrow and Ball, Little Greene, Dulux etc.
As all our freestanding islands are lovingly handmade & handpainted we are able to offer a totally bespoke service. So if you have a design in mind that isn't reflected on our islands page then please don't hesitate to contact us & discuss your individual design ideas. Each of our freestanding kitchen islands are unique & have been created & designed to suit each of our customer’s specific requirements. This allows for any combination of design features to be incorporated into any size of island that best suits the space that is available in your kitchen. Our freestanding kitchen islands can house cupboards & shelving, open slatted shelving, drawers & bookcases, even wicker baskets. The option of having an overhanging worktop turns your kitchen island into a breakfast bar & offers you a place to sit & utilize it as a table as well allowing your kitchen island to provide a more social function as well as a practical & stylish one.
Freestanding kitchen islands create a wonderful working space & areas for extra storage as well as adding a real focal point to any kitchen environment. They can become the real hub of your kitchen where you are able to socialize with friends & family, creating an informal open planned space where you can prepare those great meals, housing everything that you need close at hand while at the same time providing your kitchen with a beautifully hand crafted piece of furniture.

About Our Islands
Our free standing kitchen islands are carefully handcrafted in solid pine with a choice of 40mm thick Oak, Beech, Maple, Ash or Iroko hardwood worktop. All islands are constructed using 95mm corner posts with the side & end the rails are fully mortise & tenon jointed to them. All cupboards are solid timber throughout as are all drawers which also benefit from being fully dovetail jointed. All painted finishes consist of a primer/undercoat & two top coats. All hardwood worktops come pre-oiled with at least 3 coats of Danish oil.
